Value Based Care Compliance
Value Based Care (VBC) does not have to mean you join an Accountable Care Organization (ACO). There are alternatives such as the MIPS quality reporting program that allow you to get in compliance with VBC on an individual hospital/practice level, rather than be accountable for everyone else's performance.
At OxfordPark, we do not claim to be Value Based Care experts, we simply deliver the means by which (RPCM) you can improve outcomes, scores, ratings, and overall quality to get in compliance with VBC programs such as MIPS. Should you need a VBC expert, we have trusted partners who know all the in's and out's of the 'quantum physics-esque' intricacies of VBC, we are happy to put you in touch.
MIPS is a budget neutral program. MIPS VBC reimbursement penalties from non-compliant practices pay for bonuses earned by compliant practices. The days of low score thresholds and Covid hardship exemptions are over as of 2024. Non-compliance is widespread, as will be penalties to fund bonuses.
When outsourced, Remote Preventative Care Management (RPCM - all codes, including CCM), is a highly effective and efficient way to get in compliance with MIPS. Chronic Care Management (CCM) patients can only be enrolled in CCM with one provider. The patient must have seen the provider once within the last twelve months. Each day that passes is a day's worth of patients seen that are no longer eligible to benefit from RPCM Services until they return to see the provider.
